The company’s CEO, Sebastian Siemiatkowski, has thrown the entire company’s weight behind artificial intelligence, infamously boasting that the tech was doing the work of “700 full-time agents” last year — only to regret his decision months later, admitting that humans play an important role after all.

Siemiatkowski claimed that he went from being a “business person” to an amateur developer thanks to vibe coding, allowing him to come up with a prototype in just 20 minutes.

Siemiatkowski claimed his newfound hobby is saving his staff significant amounts of time — but whether Klarna engineers would agree with that sentiment remains unclear.

    What a shit show.

I took a couple classes at the business school and was surprised by how many business majors were people who’d originally been in the engineering school but flamed out when they tried taking Organic Chemistry. It seemed to be one of College of Engineering’s early required classes and I think they used it to weed out students.

Some of the worst people I have ever worked with are engineers who went on to get MBAs. They often can do neither business or engineering but are thrilled to lecture you about both.

Have you guys tried using “variables?” That’s what we need: constantly keep it fresh so we’re not stagnating! See what you can come up with and let’s plan to schedule some time to touch base on this!

I’m seeing great uptake with these “variables”, but I’m going to put marketing in the loop to make sure variable names are aligned with customer expectations. All new variables must be signed off after focus group testing and consultation. Why use i when you can use iVariablePro?

“I’m happy to report that the Team has been very receptive to the introduction of the concept of variables, and are wildly enthusiastic about using them liberally henceforth. Thanks Boss! Where would we lowly programmers be without you?”

“Boss, if you knew how to do my job better than I do, you wouldn’t need to pay me in the first place. The fact that I have to tell you this should have told you everything you need to know, but for the same reason won’t, you utter dipshit.”

As someone who’s lost colleagues to AI, and is directly closer to losing their own job, I can tell you they don’t care.

They intend to replace everyone in due time. They think they are brilliant, because chatgpt tells them they are brilliant. It’s the ultimate ass-kissing machine, and they are ultimately vulnerable to all ass kissing.

So I’m using ChatGPT right now to vibe code some hot fixes for my heavily modded version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R GAMMA (about 560 mods) and having it try to patch it when it crashes to desktop from the inevitable conflicts all these mods eventually have when you get enough of them running simultaneously.

I’ve been at it for a few days now and it’s still crashing, so I don’t think I’m doing it right lol.
