I also enjoyed Hank Green’s take
EDIT: Sorry I didn’t realize Casey was problematic. Watch the linked Hank Green video instead
I’m not on tik tok. I’m not on Sora.
If people don’t stop supporting real artists, then no, creativity will not die.
Can we not post videos to this zionist self serving idiot?
The guy literally waves Israeli flags in NYC at pro-Palestine rallies. On Camera.
He’s as brainwashed as they come, his brother Van is even worse.
He just shills and makes ads.
Yikes. I didn’t know that. I said in another comment, but I don’t really watch his videos anymore. He’s just one of those OG YouTubers, and I saw this pop up in my recommendations. But that’s not cool.
“Lots of people despise TikTok and for good reason, but what I want to know is: Can we make it worse somehow? Controversy creates clicks, people!”
Casey Neistat is a Zionist with very vile opinions on Palestinians bordering on “if there is a genocide its a good one”
I’m not saying you’re wrong – I haven’t watched much of his stuff in years – but any sources? Does he say stuff in his videos, Tweets, somewhere else?
“Will slop end creativity” of course not, but it may drive it underground and into hiding, away from the usual places. Those who know where to look will still find legitimate human creativity happening though, and it’s never going to go away. If anything, the pressure may make it even stronger.
If most people are no longer being creative, find the people who are. If most people are no longer making art, find the ones who are. If most people are no longer writing books, find the ones who are. If most people are no longer working towards a better future, find the ones who are. The human spirit of creativity and ingenuity is relentless and indomitable. It will never be completely stopped, not by anything short of extinction.
Granted, we may yet end up there. But I’m desperately hoping it will not be anytime soon.
My reacting to all this was to get into film photography and other physical mediums. Just sent my first roll out to be developed 🤞
It might overwhelm the feeds of people who browse slop shoveling services like Facebook and Instagram. It won’t end creativity any more than commercial art ended creative art.
Is cool for a few weeks, but then slop browsing is just… Not interesting anymore
