For people out of the loop, this image is a reference to a protester in Portland (I think) who has been wearing an inflatable frog costume, and finding that it’s a surprisingly effective thing to wear to a protest: it obscures one’s identity, and even when an ICE agent domestic terrorist sprayed pepper spray into the air vents of the costume, the protester was barely effected (i.e. the costume provided better defence against pepper spray than other methods like a face mask or goggles)

IMO we need to bring back signatures in the bottom corner. I wonder if you can watermark QR codes.

Artist attribution is more important than ever.

if you can watermark QR codes.

Apropos of nothing, yes. You can insert a logo into them in a predefined space, but you can also just straight up watermark one normally. As long as sufficient contrast is still there for the device reading it to differentiate between the white and black areas, it’ll still work.

Great illustration and thanks for linking the attribution. I would buy a t-shirt from this guy, but not any of the ones on Amazon or CafePress. It’s CC NC-ND 4.0 so I could print one myself, but that sounds like a lot of work.

Good to see the original source.

People have been sharing this like crazy on bluesky and they never seem to care if it’s AI or not, let alone who the artist is. I guess that’s why I like Lemmy, lol.

I was in the mindset that someone who created such a masterpiece might not want the attention of all the ICE officers kidnappers looking for their next victim.
