Three of my cats came through the cat flap and lived with me.

They used to live next door, they had six cats but four of them were regular visitors to my house probably because it was quieter. Next door used to have really loud arguments all the time. Anyway they split up, moved out and sold the place, and within a couple of months I had three of them living me. I ran into her in the town and told her where the cats were but she never came and got them. Oh and the two females were heavily pregnant when they moved in so after a couple of days I had six kittens as well. Five cats and six kittens is officially called a chaos.

I know that feeling, my first tabby walked in through an open back door. I put her back outside in an open box with food and water hoping the mom would come get her. Four hours of meowing later I had a cat. She matches my new floors at least!

Everytime I go out i look only forward and walk fast praying that I don’t see any cats or dogs. I already have 2 dogs and 2 cats and I was able to emotionally manipulate my brother to keep 2 others. I can’t anymore lol

Came here to say this. Pretty much all the cats I’ve lived with just walked in off the street and acted like they’ve always lived with me.

I’ve never been blessed by the CDS. It’s pretty frustrating and disheartening that I have to chase them down manually and explicitly

Several of the cats I had when I was a kid and now as an adult just came up to my door and started meowing. It’s like God was informing them about which house was most likely to take them in, after some online posts and flyers with no picture (so they have to verify what the cat looks like) that say "lost cat found, contact here ( ) " and putting notices in at the vet and the local shelters, we kept them. My guess is they were all dumped somewhere in the neighborhoods I lived in.

I’m not allowed in the shelters because there is no way I’m walking out will less than a half of the animals there.

You can have all of the kittens in our neighborhood then. We just rescued 2x starving 8 week olds from a drain pipe (one died) just to find a fucking 2 week old screaming in our backyard. Luckily we found someone who can bottle feed the adorable asshole every 3 hours.

The kitten distribution system fucking blows when you live near a feral cat colony. We already have 6 cats, of which 4 are foster fails because we’re suckers and don’t think strangers will take proper care of them. We purposefully haven’t named the new one because we can’t keep her and still provide proper veterinary care.

        feral cat colony.

Have you looked in if your local government has a catch a release program. Where I am some of the rural areas have a process where they spay or neuter, clip the ear then release them back to the area.

Then come on down to Texas. They’re the cutest fuckers you’ll ever meet. The one we just found a foster for is a super pretty dilute calico, but if she’s anything like our dilute calico she’ll be a beautiful bitch.

I’m sorry about you living in Texas. I won’t even step foot in your country right now and most of my countrymen won’t touch products made by your country.

Your whole country is pretty messed up, and Texas seems to be leading the charge in the amount of crazy shit they can put into law… Right next to Florida.

Rookie mistake right there. Gotta stop wanting it. The mysterious house hunting cat will only appear where they are least desired

I can tell from experience that doesn’t work. Fortunately, because I’d be heartbroken if a little critter like that showed up, knowing I’d have to live on the streets from that point on as I can’t be in the same house as a cat. 😞

I assume this is a joke but if it’s not you should absolutely find a shelter near you and go talk to them. You can hang out with the potential adoptees while you’re there

Protip: check for fleas, had one of these pop up in my backyard a couple years and and nearly infested our house with them. Still have the fellow though, weirdly likes his ears scratched heavily due to his early flea infestation.

As someone whos had many cats show up this way… Don’t bother checking just assume and treat. Depending on your area, solid chance your fleas may be mostly immune to the cheaper flea collars. I’ve never met a flea infestation that could survive a few weeks of oral nitenpyram and you can order that online.
