A person with such a condition is not always in full control of themselves, and (as this is what I can guess your water gun emoji are implying) we cannot put people to the wall for actions they can’t control. This may be harder to understand when the lack of control causes you dress like a Klan instead of cussing people out and working on a genius operating system, but still! I can see the argument for forceful institutionalization and treatment, but is that ethical? We cannot strip a human of their humanity, no matter how convenient it may be to do so. Or perhaps instead of humanity, we cannot strip from a life the inherent value of that life. There’s a difference between someone in their right mind choosing to exploit people for profit and a person with a mental illness being unable to control themselves.
