I’ve made several alts over the years and it’s wild to see how badly wreckers fumble on sounding like a leftist.

I used to think I needed to build more credibility before making a post, but it’s not the case at all. If you’re cool and stay consistent in your values, people here are so willing to give the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks for being a cool community who bans transphobes, debate lords, and chuds.

yeah admins added it after enabling federation, funnily enough it was supposed to be temporary at the time but ig they decided to keep it. this is what the application is btw it’s nothing too hard:

How did you find out about Hexbear, and why do you want to join?

Why did you choose your username?

What are your views on GSM / LGBTQ rights, racial justice, animal liberation, and similar movements?

for comparison here is grad’s appliation:

Why would you like to join?
What left tendency would you call yourself?
Please open this chapter on the Marxist Internet Archive, and paste the first sentence from the second paragraph (right after the quote) as a verification measure.
What is your understanding of gender? Should Marxists support the LGBTQ+ community?
What communities would you most like to participate in?
How or why did you choose your username?

I tried to join so many leftist discords a few years ago and they all had questionnaires which were multipage when I finished and the only response I ever got back was one “what?” I have no idea if I put too much work into answering the questions technically because they were technical questions, or if my opinions are just weird AF because I actually read the theory and drew my own conclusions and that’s a great way to become quite eccentric and, let’s say interestingly, wrong.

Hexbear’s is pretty pain free, never been denied.
