Same as the Sherman and Clayton anti-trust acts, which is a big reason why we’re here now. So, so much of corporate America is patently illegal, and the feds have done fuck-all about it for decades.

Well as long as its at least 7.

My only solace is that the boomers waited till they were so fucking old to try to stop the world from changing through fascism.

Hitler shot himself at 56 and had spent a lot of his 30-40s trying to gain power. A lot of the current generation of fascists are a light jog away or botched botox from their death. But fuck this.

It looks like they have capitulated, for now. It wouldn’t hurt to contact your local airport to object, and to organize peaceful demonstrations.

The airports that refuse to bend the knee have also released public statements condemning the video. Let’s show them our support! They are:

      Portland International

      Seattle-Tacoma International

      Buffalo Niagara International

      Niagara Falls International

      Westchester County

That and not all airports even have TVs setup by the TSA checkpoint, or they’re hardly used.

Well, on the upside America might actually survive the Trump regime purelly because of how, even with a fucking master plan seemingly made by smarter people, they’re horribly inept at making it work, mainly because everybody in that Administration has been chosen based on loyalty or looks and not at all on demonstrated execution abilities.

Imagine if instead of a gaggle of morons, that Administration was instead made up of competent people with domain-applicable experience.

How many laws do they need to break in order for something to actually be done? They are clearly mentally ill and none of them are based in reality, so we need to get them out of office.

That is a mental illness. These people have a serious hoarding disorder, and they can’t stop accumulating money. They have enough money that neither they, nor their descendants for the next century could possibly spend it all, and yet they will still walk through fire, or hire someone else to, to get even more.

If those people hoarded cats, or rusty cars, or newspapers, or general junk, we would get mental health care for them, and dismantle their collection. Psychopathic Oligarchs are no different. We should involuntarily commit them to mental hospitals to treat their hoarding issues, confiscate the bulk of their treasure, and keep them from rebuilding their fortunes.

telling travelers “Democrats in Congress refuse to fund the federal government” and claiming that is why “most of our TSA employees are working without pay.”

Honestly the TSA shouldn’t exist, it’s a graft and corruption scheme created by the Bush Jr administration so guys like Michael Chertoff could steal taxpayer money.

They can’t even perform their stated functions, there have been numerous instances of them failing to detect firearms and bomb parts during tests, they fail the majority by a wide margin.

It’s a “make-work” program. Those people should be building hospitals in rural communities, fixing roads and bridges. At least that would have a return on investment.

Same with ICE, and the entire DHS, frankly.

I mean, Democrats have a history of terrible negotiations. I think republicans are correct that if they win the PR war democrats will fold, even if I wish it weren’t so.

Historically, republicans take every opportunity to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, and democrats to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

They do, but I’m a little surprised by how well they’ve positioned themselves on this one. It seems to me that the most likely scenario is that the Republicans will give nothing on principal, the shutdown will go until November when the premiums increase, and the country will see that the Republicans would rather close the government for two months than spare them a doubling or tripling of their healthcare costs.

And all the while Trump trashes the government in an attempt to retaliate, without really understanding that the government provides services that people, his voters included, depend on. I’m not sure, “the Democrats made me do it,” will save him with anyone other than his cult members.

        I am cautiously optimistic.

Have you ever known a child who could manipulate his parents by being stubborn and annoying. The parents are incapable of setting boundaries and caving to the child’s demands is easier than having difficult discussions.

Republicans are the children and Democrats are the patents. The parents are now trying to set a boundary. Expect an epic tantrum from the children.

They want/need more vilification. The further they vilify, the further they can go on things like project 2025.

Eg you can say they vilified the left 10 years ago, but 10 years ago they wouldn’t have gotten away with deploying the national guard. They get away with it now because of the last 10 years of vilifying even more. Now imagine what they’ll be able to do in the next 5 to 10 years.

Yeah, you’re right, the average republican voter thinks that democrats are vile, hateful, literally evil people that want to end their way of life… but they also can’t point to something major is going to ruin their life in the next two months. Fuck with all those fools’ health insurances, and every other service that’s going to be sputtering in the gutter, and now you have the whole, “society is only [X] meals away from anarchy/revolution/chaos,” AND you have the army of fools ‘rising up’ pointed at your political enemies for the thing they’re now mad specifically about, rather than just generally.

It’s also just part of their general faux news schtick: repeat the same thing, over and over. In this case, it’s that democrats are the bad guys and at fault for everything. Can’t let up the propaganda stream, or the people might start having independent thoughts in those heads. Maybe those thoughts would be that the republicans aren’t on their side, or maybe that capitalism isn’t benefiting any of them… so better keep it up.

I mean, it feels like Repubilicans have gone too far on this one. It’s just becoming noise. No one believes the Republicans anymore. Someone neutral could ask, “If you want the Democrats to vote for it, what did you do to get their vote?” And the response would be, “Nothing.”

You and I wish. I am in a red area, and the only thing that has changed in the last 10 months is that some people who were sucking orange man’s virtually present dick are now also returning to saying that ‘politicans are bad,’ which is how they compartmentalize the pedophilia. Three guesses who they think are the pedophilic politicians.
