Simulacra and Simulation.
We are already a society that barely interacts with the real world as intended but this is so many layers back that its truly shocking.
Overpriced colorful coffee drinks that are supposed to be shown as a status symbol and an aesthetic?
Not a tasty drink even, which is already yet another layer from the truth of it which is…
This is a highly addictive compound (caffeine) that our ancestors put up with for the energizing effects it gave despite the strong bitter flavor. One that causes strong withdrawal symptoms when you get over reliant on it.
I just can’t imagine letting a company get me addicted on something for the pretend joy it brings for matching my outfit.

It was $3 to $13 so… I mean easy to make huge percentage swings when practically spare change for the wealthy.

Hoozer means large… Maybe they were calling themselves fat?

So, Florida decides that they are going to be a liberal state, part of that is that they want open access to anything the state government does. This is for all things, transcripts, photos, letters, maps even, whatever. But the Police department is part of the state government, well screw it include them too and all evidence thats used. Its public. This sets up a funny president, its easy to get all the details about an incident in Florida so journalists looking for stories to write about start writing more and more of them about the state and the people in it. But they all do this thing where they simplify the headline… “Florida man does ____”, see proof below.
I guess my moral of my story, is just cause you see something somewhere else doesnt mean it isn’t happening at home… You are just hearing about the thing happening somewhere else.

This is private equity converting a warehouse into a data center though right?
Why does this feel like the new gig economy scam for companies?
Need extra cash? Make some easily by renting out server space!

Touché, but I counter with much being converting a shoe company to a consumer based AI sales company.
As in: well that’s a bit much.

This world is to stupid for me

Oh the main story for this article is about a woman named “Patient #83” who was of unknown age, diabetic, broken ankle, and dementia.
“The staff member [said] Resident #83 was unclear of what was going on, scared, and not sure who dropped her off there,”
She’s missing according to the article. Wandered off somewhere.

I originally thought about this being a NotTheOnion, and then I realized I believed it really easily even if I was disgusted by it.
Yeah I would chalk it up to Vertical Horizon being just considered a barely 1 hit wonder band from lack of label support. Neat deep cut, but I wouldnt ever feel bad about liking them.
We Built this City - by Starship
It is the greatest song ever produced. It even has a fake backstory, and is somehow about every city. Chef’s kiss on that one.

Ok, the quick version:
I am small waisted and was especially so when I was an underfed child of early teen years. My mother was going through her 4th? 3rd Husband and decided to get married on a cruise ship this time.
Well on the pool deck there was a water slide and a leak underneath said slide, I slipped on it and slid across the deck under the railing and over the side.
I didnt hit the water by the way. I hit the balcony railing of the first deck of cabins a couple floors below and bounced into the ship. I then not wanting to get in trouble bolted through the cabin saying something about a hat to the confused people, and told no one.
I ended up swimming to far on those broken ribs out at the beach in mexico and had to get saved by the coast guard who did not bring me onboard but drug me behind their boat via life preserver I was barely holding onto face down, so assumed the agonizing pain was that and I just sucked at swimming.
Also brought back Swine Flu on that trip and got my school shut down for handing out some shirts as souvenirs.

This is gonna be how we get more Citicorp Center flaws in our world isn’t it?
And I dont expect modern “profits at all costs” companies to own up to it and fix their issues like it was in 1978.

Great question. I wish I could pay my .011¢ and just be done with it.
I actually subscribe and pay for the things I enjoy when possible so I can own it. I get mailed the onion for that reason.

Ahh, yeah websites are getting more stingy about adblockers I noticed. I went to one website and when I tried to go past the popup they literally just blocked the page at the gateway for my IP I guess cause it reloaded with a full error.
Wild that these fractions of a cent are worth reducing traffic to your site for.
So you just went on a rant to say you disagree? Thats silly.
