“Businesses cannot discriminate,” Bondi said, referring to the Office Depot incident.

Yet the GOP wants ‘conscience clauses’ for pharmacists to be able to refuse to fill prescriptions for drugs they don’t approve of, for medical personnel to be able to refuse health care to people they don’t approve of, and of course for bakeries to be able to refuse their services to people they don’t approve of.

That arguably goes without saying. They don’t know they’re being hypocritical and they don’t care. They think, say, and do what they’re told to. The few who know better are the ones dictating the narrative.

What possible charge could the feds Levy for refusing to print flyers? I can’t think of anything, and I do not see how interstate commerce comes into this at all for Pam bondy’s dumbass to get involved in the first place.

        I don’t think that’s correct.

“Businesses cannot discriminate,” Bondi said, referring to the Office Depot incident. “If you wanna go in and print posters with Charlie’s pictures on them for a vigil, you have to let them do that. We can prosecute you for that.”

That’s not discrimination. White supremacists and fascists are not a protected ciass. The government is obligated to allow them speech on public property, however Office Depot is not the government or public property. Businesses are not obligated to serve or do business with them or tolerate their speech.

Exactly the opposite of what these fascist hypocrites said when a bigot refused to make a wedding cake for a same sex couple.

          This Sartre quote applies here:

Never believe that anti-Semites fascists are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites fascists have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past."

If you ask the more thoughtful Republicans on the internet, they’ll tell you that they were against this sort of thing, but the Democrats weaponized it anyway and now they’re not going to put themselves at a disadvantage by refusing to retaliate in kind. It’s consistent, although I don’t know if it’s true. Trump and co aren’t principled people but they might not have come up with the idea themselves.

Pam Bondi is a liar and a fool. Just because some wannabe Nazi bitch in government says something does just make it fact.

          This timeline is so cursed.

That gay cake thing was entirely fabricated. Like there was no gay couple that requested that cake be made, the woman who sued over it just made the shit up out of whole cloth with the right wing organizations banking the lawsuit. They did not have standing but the Supreme Court ignored that.

That was the website design women. In Colorado the cake nonsense actually happened and made it to the Supreme Court. Doesn’t make the cake maker any better.

    “Businesses cannot discriminate,” Bondi said.

You stupid bitch, your side literally cried for years because a shop refused to make a cake for a gay couple, claiming it was their right to refuse it.
