    Double dipping on jokes.

All you need to nail this job is the ability to say “what if a Muslim did that?” to everything that comes out of his mouth.

“China is engaging the US in a cold trade war!”

“Someone cut me off in traffic!”

    “Get me a coffee!”

The bedbug would double his output and call you his muse.

It has always worried me a bit that in the time where we claim traditional media isn’t affordable, that there is a seemingly infinite budget and patience for people who write a thousand words of anodyne bullshit and bigotry. Bret Stephens job consists of writing a single column once a week about whatever bugaboo he has. It requires no research, it requires no logistics of any kind, it barely requires him to show up. He has no need for an assistant to fulfill this, this is not a two man operation. The new york times is giving him an 80k a year perk in the form of a servant. I am aware that the new york times doesn’t exist to do journalism, but has the dual purpose of promoting the class interests of the financial bourgeois (And bigotry of course) and serving as a means to provide a cushy existence to people whose job is to flatter the egos of the same, but it is nevertheless disgusting how blatant it is.

Isn’t 81k in New York City like, poverty level wages? From what I gather from Mamdani and his campaign, the CoL in New York is absolutely nuts and you can be hardpressed to stay housed on something close to 100k/year

The 81k is being used on a perk for a man who already makes a good wage for doing essentially no work. It is essentially a bonus for the Brettbug That the person who is hired to provide the perk receives a comparatively poor wage doesn’t affect the dynamics at play much. (Altough i will admit if the pay had been exorbitant that would point to this being even more decadent)

Totally agreed. It’s a lot of money for the NYT to spend on something completely unnecessary, I was just saying that the actual pay that the assistant gets is not enough to live decently in NYC, which I guess is a pro for Mr. BedBug

It really is laughable for him to have an assistant. His very first NYT column came out in April, 2017. CTH and its reddit sub were still very new to me and I learned about the article in the sub. I thought the jokes about what he wrote had to be a big exaggeration so I read it - Climate of Complete Certainty. It turned out the jokes were based on what he actually wrote. I couldn’t believe it. It was basically a shitpost. He said that we can’t trust climate change models because polling indicated Hillary Clinton would win in 2016 yet she lost.

He isn’t clever or canny so it was firth-rate trolling. He must think of himself as incredibly wise and smart. But it was just idiocy pretending to be rightwing contrarianism.

Yeah but in the event of an enhuskening he will latch onto the nearest host body - presumably yours. Which although unlikely is a very tall ask because once they get in they don’t uh… go quietly.
