    Apple said the same thing a short while ago. I wonder what that word, ‘innovation’, actually means to them.

      Helping genocide for instance by legitimizing the targeting of women and children under the pretext of “the impartial computer said it is okay.” Or designating people as “terrorists” to be assassinated because they are in a whatsapp group with someone who is in a whatsapp group with someone who is in a whatsapp group with someone, who is marked as a “terrorist” by the AI.

      A large company with deep pockets, with the ability to influence politics, so yes, I’d say it does matter.

        This is about public opinion, so it shouldn’t matter what Google says & people should understand that all megacorp speech is propaganda for their (fairly short-term) profit. And that such statements basically shouldn’t get the coverage they are getting (but still some is necessary to have the knowledge to understand other fuckery that megacorp will engage in to achieve it’s goals).
