Based on the name I was hoping she’d make copies of herself that each provided an X-spell discount, but it’s +1/+1 counters instead.
I still feel like Quandrix seems a little too much like Simic, and I feel like leaning on “cares about tokens” would distinguish them more
Feels like it may have been a localized issue because no one at my prerelease had any TMNT cards.
Yeah, the third-party stuff has been a drag, especially with 2026 sets having more non-MTG original sets than in-universe sets. Doesn’t hurt to enjoy the good stuff when it comes around though, even if you only want to look at the cards and soak in the flavor through that
Yes, this is why Melira combos with Persist as well
Feels like a trap with how high the mana cost is though. Not sure if the keywords pushes it over Vanquisher’s Banner
Put X -1/-1 counters on a creature you control
I wonder if there’s a particular reason they limited this to only the Lrw/Shm creature types and not just used the standard “choose a creature type”
Doesn’t feel too strong for anything but maybe I’m not thinking of the right type
Great reprint both for Standard and Pioneer. I actually really like these super targeted counterspells and wish they experimented more with them
This feels like a really good and flexible card. Getting ANY land is excellent. But I’m sad that the borderless art doesn’t keep the good boy elemental design

You’ll enjoy the borderless arts then

There’s also a Japanese alternate art for this as well!
I guess this is just a strictly better Vexing Shusher? I feel like that card was already good enough, it didn’t need a better one with Ward and no need to keep mana up
Ah I guess they updated it since Historic Brawl took over the format. I also remembered it being a smaller, standard legal deck but guess not enough people play it that way anymore
Afaik it technically still is? I just think it fell into obscurity since there wasn’t much allure to playing it over Commander, whereas the latter doesn’t exist on Arena so Brawl is the next best thing

Really cool design for a Boros commander, I can see this legend being popular
While they left the tips of hooves at the end of their feet, it feels like they made the elves look conspicuously more human than they did before which is disappointing given how cool they looked
Damn, sad to hear. Everything anyone’s ever said about the guy has been nothing but compliments, and to be taken so young… Fuck cancer.
