That’s fair, I think people can sometimes be weird with things like tarot or astrology, but all of my IRL experience with people doing tarot is that they’re doing it for fun and treat it like a fortune cookie. Also some people (like me!) will buy a tarot deck for the art and don’t do anything with it. It can be hard to gauge online when there’s so many weirdos on the internet.
And in terms of scummy things WotC will do for money, this is still on the lower end of the scale compared to some of the shit they’ve gotten up to

That’s true; this certainly doesn’t bother me as much as stuff like, say, hiring the Pinkertons.
