We can totally go back. 20 years ago, this was normal. Hell, 20 years ago there was a public countdown timer for when Emma Watson turned 18. And relatively recently, that kind of thing gets cited as an example of how crazy attitudes were in the very recent past.
Some people are trying to make it normal again. They’re attempting to recreate the past. Re-enacting it. Reactionaries. I personally don’t think they’re gonna succeed… but, even if they do, well, the past became the present. Sensibilities that changed for the worse can also change for the better again. After all, that’s what happened the first time round.
There’s no going back. We all know that, right? This is the new normal. This is life forever more now.
