          0:29:47.279 --> 0:29:53.679
          with the president uh Trump and we'll see what the How do you know who the mayor

          0:29:53.679 --> 0:29:59.600
          will be? I don't know that. Do we know that? He's going to be very fine. And who knows? We don't know who the mayor is

          0:29:59.600 --> 0:30:05.760
          going to be yet. But this is a communist. He's not a socialist. He's a communist. And he's said some really bad

          0:30:05.760 --> 0:30:12.399
          things about Jewish people. And he said some really bad things about a lot of people. And uh I think he's going

          0:30:12.399 --> 0:30:18.320
          through a little bit of a honeymoon right now, but he might make it. But you know, it all comes through the White House. He needs the money through the

          0:30:18.320 --> 0:30:23.840
          White House. He needs a lot. He's going to behave. He'll behave. He better behave. Otherwise, he's going to have big problems.

          0:30:23.840 --> 0:30:29.919
          So, you got to behave. Um I've got to ask, it's very funny that Netanyahu was like, I'm going to go with my big

          0:30:29.919 --> 0:30:36.000
          brother. Donald Trump's going to come with me. Is the plan still to arrest Benjamin Netanyahu if he comes to New York City with Donald Trump as his human

          0:30:36.000 --> 0:30:42.640
          shield? Look, I think I want to just first give us the context. Yes, often

          0:30:42.640 --> 0:30:47.840
          times this is described as if it is a matter of opinion, a personal

          0:30:47.840 --> 0:30:53.760
          assessment. We are speaking about someone who is facing a warrant from the International Criminal Court, someone

          0:30:53.760 --> 0:31:00.640
          who has perpetrated a genocide of Palestinians for close to two years. And

          0:31:00.640 --> 0:31:07.520
          every hour for that time period, a Palestinian child has been killed by the Israeli military.

          0:31:07.520 --> 0:31:13.039
          And this is something that has shocked the conscience of so many across the

          0:31:13.039 --> 0:31:19.679
          city, across this country, across the world. And I hear about it from New Yorkers everywhere. I hear about it when

          0:31:19.679 --> 0:31:25.279
          I take the train. I hear about it when I'm walking on the street. I hear about it when I'm speaking about our affordability agenda. And I hear about

          0:31:25.279 --> 0:31:30.720
          it because it is an affront to any kind of universal belief in the sanctity of

          0:31:30.720 --> 0:31:35.840
          of humanity, of justice, of safety. And I also hear about it because there is a

          0:31:35.840 --> 0:31:41.279
          deep shame and anger and a horror at the fact that we as Americans are complicit

          0:31:41.279 --> 0:31:48.960
          in this. You know, I think Graeme Platner put it best when he recently said, "Our taxpayer dollars should be

          0:31:48.960 --> 0:31:56.240
          building schools and hospitals in this country, not bombs to destroy them in Gaza." And there is that deep sense of

          0:31:56.240 --> 0:32:02.480
          the contradiction in our politics. you as mayor of New York want to hold him to account and and and and that is the importance

          0:32:02.480 --> 0:32:08.480
          of this city is to showcase a model of what politics could be and to to showcase that we are a city that

          0:32:08.480 --> 0:32:13.519
          believes in international law. Now look to be clear I'm going to operate within the bounds of the law. I'm not Donald

          0:32:13.519 --> 0:32:19.360
          Trump seeking to create my own, you know, legal system as I make my own decisions. And yet I think it is also

          0:32:19.360 --> 0:32:25.840
          important to say that the time of not only tolerating but celebrating Benjamin

          0:32:25.840 --> 0:32:30.880
          Netanyahu in this city from those in leading political positions including the mayor.

          0:32:30.880 --> 0:32:36.399
          The time of looking at Benjamin Netanyahu coming to this city and then making military decisions from this city

          0:32:36.399 --> 0:32:42.559
          to kill civilians. That time has to come to an end because New Yorkers at the very least want to bring an end not only

          0:32:42.559 --> 0:32:47.600
          to this genocide but also to the complicity we have in the violation of international law. You have Eric Adams

          0:32:47.600 --> 0:32:52.960
          hosting Benjamin Net. I proudly say I'll host you this week at the UN. You're also up against Andrew Cromo, a guy who

          0:32:52.960 --> 0:32:58.000
          many people forget volunteered to represent Benjamin Net at the

          0:32:58.000 --> 0:33:03.440
          International Criminal Court and I will be your lawyer and now and now he's running away from that. Did a recent interview with the New York

          0:33:03.440 --> 0:33:10.159
          Times. He said the war in Gaza is horrific that it should come to an end. He even said I never stood with BB.

          0:33:10.159 --> 0:33:17.840
          There Google images will literally show that statement is false. Um, do you buy that distancing by Cuomo or has he just

          0:33:17.840 --> 0:33:23.519
          noticed that the Democratic base is not pro-Israel anymore? The only thing that Andrew Cuomo seems

          0:33:23.519 --> 0:33:30.559
          to believe in is his own ambition. There are no convictions. There are no deeply held beliefs beyond that. And we've seen

          0:33:30.559 --> 0:33:37.679
          that with his continuing shift on the question of Israel and Palestine and and whether or not international law is

          0:33:37.679 --> 0:33:43.679
          something to be respected. and to tell New Yorkers that he has nothing to do with BB when he volunteered and proudly

          0:33:43.679 --> 0:33:51.120
          shared with the world. It was not something that was discovered. It was something that he shared publicly. It is

          0:33:51.120 --> 0:33:57.120
          it is just it just shows how little he thinks of us and our ability to actually remember and and I think that speaks to

          0:33:57.120 --> 0:34:02.960
          his politics at large where he thinks that none of us remember his record. None of us remember why he is the former

          0:34:02.960 --> 0:34:08.398
          governor and yet or why he's the disgraced former governor as the phrase goes. There's a reason for that. Exactly. Um, just on

          0:34:08.399 --> 0:34:13.839
          that, does it frustrate you that the media has spent so much time asking you

          0:34:13.839 --> 0:34:21.040
          about this or that statement that you have never used yourself? But don't I don't see them asking Andrew Cuomo about

          0:34:21.040 --> 0:34:26.720
          representing a wanted war criminal. I do think it's a question that deserves to be asked more of him because of the

          0:34:26.720 --> 0:34:33.358
          fact that it goes against what so many New Yorkers want in their leadership. Right? We want first and foremost

          0:34:33.359 --> 0:34:38.800
          someone who will focus on this city, someone who will deliver for the people of this city. And we also want a

          0:34:38.800 --> 0:34:44.240
          politics that's consistent. And to look at Benjamin Netanyahu and say that the

          0:34:44.240 --> 0:34:50.638
          best use of my time is to defend him from the International Criminal Court. Yes. It shows how little you think of New

          0:34:50.639 --> 0:34:56.878
          Yorkers and how little you think of any beliefs in humanity. I've got to ask, we're wrapping up. I got to ask, I know you're not just a

          0:34:56.879 --> 0:35:03.359
          Muslim, you are a Shia Muslim. I believe you're also a Shia Muslim. Yes. Yes. People say people say, "I've

          0:35:03.359 --> 0:35:09.920
          heard you're anti-b businessiness." Have you ever met an anti-b business? Well, koas are famous for trade and commerce and business. Um, they're also

          0:35:09.920 --> 0:35:16.000
          famous for their punctuality. So, as hoja, mayor of New York, are you going to ensure the buses run on time?

          0:35:16.000 --> 0:35:21.119
          Yes, there's going to be KST, Koja Standard Time. Okay. So, that's for the New Yorkers who

          0:35:21.119 --> 0:35:26.240
          don't know about Kojas, you're welcome to a new world of everything being on time and no delays. Um, I also got to

          0:35:26.240 --> 0:35:32.160
          ask before we finish, you were obviously once rapper Young Cardinal. Yes. And you said to me last year when we spoke, I asked you, I said, "Is it

          0:35:32.160 --> 0:35:38.160
          harder uh to run for mayor or do a mixtape?" And you said, "Mix tape."

          0:35:38.160 --> 0:35:43.839
          Do you still feel that way? I still feel that way. You still feel that way a year later. All the crap you've got.

          0:35:43.839 --> 0:35:49.040
          Let me tell you, when you are the opener to the opener to the opener to the opener to the opener,

          0:35:49.040 --> 0:35:54.400
          okay, to the main act, there is a different level of difficulty in motivating yourself for that moment.

          0:35:54.400 --> 0:36:00.079
          This is a very difficult job that I have right now and that I'm running to have as the next mayor of this city, but it's

          0:36:00.079 --> 0:36:06.720
          also a joy and an opportunity to serve the city that I love and I just can't I can't wait to do it. And on joy, you did this big scavenger

          0:36:06.720 --> 0:36:13.359
          hunt. I've never seen a candidate. Where were you? I was in Washington DC. I'm not a resident of New York City. Um but okay,

          0:36:13.359 --> 0:36:18.800
          I'll come for the next one. My question is when you're mayor, we do we expect more fun and games? Is that part of the mayoral platform?

          0:36:18.800 --> 0:36:24.240
          There has to be room for joy in our politics. There has to be room for joy in the city. And none of it to elide over the struggle of what it takes to be

          0:36:24.240 --> 0:36:29.359
          a New Yorker. But life cannot just be struggle. And whether it's a scavenger hunt, whether it's enjoying the World

          0:36:29.359 --> 0:36:35.920
          Cup, we have to ensure that these things are within reach of New Yorkers, not things that they're priced out of. Last question. If Trump can ignore the

          0:36:35.920 --> 0:36:42.800
          Constitution and run for a third term in 2028, does that mean that you can ignore the Constitution?

          0:36:42.800 --> 0:36:48.000
          Don't even in 2028. No. No. No. No. No plans. No. No.

              oh ya you’re right

              Legally, there’s no basis to arrest Netanyahu.

              I thought you were incorrect but when I checked it seems like the obligation to arrest him for the ICC warrant would be via the Rome Statute which I guess the US isn’t signed to.

              But come on it would be fun to do it anyway.
