I don’t really care for Mamdani in a way that expects him to change things, I care for him for what he means for proper communists in New York and the whole US. People ought to use him and his success to further actual socialism.
His victory is proof that you don’t have to constantly pander to the worst people in the world (suburbanites) to get votes. You can just run on a platform of “better things are possible” and win easily. This, of course, infuriates every crypto-fash lib whose only joy in life is coming up with and implementing the most arcane, inscrutable means-testing policies and getting into the means-tester hall of fame.

His success and his failure!
