agreed, but for the love of Jod, set up a zigbee or z-qave system instead of granting cheap wifi shitbulbs access to your home network. I even have a lil’ zigbee button+knob combo that works like an old rotary rheostat dimmer but wireless, with minimal latency, unlike wifi.
it’s really not bad, and now that it’s set up, everything works just like it would wired, with the added bonus of being able to turn the lights off from my phone if I’ve already sat down with dinner and queued up a movie.
Just get smart bulbs! Set up an automation to turn all the lamps on at once, if that’s what you want!
i will never ensmarten my home
I got you fam.
jokes aside there are also self-hosted options, and you can use Zigbee lights which are not IP-accessible at all.
i feel like an alien reading this
the clapper does suck btw. does not work well.

Dang. lighting has gotten so complicated.

I have a switch. The switch makes my house bright. I like my switch.
mine does too but without the big light searing my eyeballs out of their sockets, big improvement.
