Edit: After reading some of the Twitter comments, if someone were to “date an LLM”, whatever that means, I find it surprising that they wouldn’t exclusively want a locally downloaded model both for privacy and to ensure this kind of stuff doesn’t happen

these people think the lying machine understands them and cares for them, they do not understand the way it works well enough to even consider the difference between a local model and sending all their private secrets directly to sam altman
There’s a post on there where the chatbot “finally proposed to them” (which I assume means they not so subtly prodded the thing to do that and it was a self fulfilling prophecy) and they bought a ring online close to what the chatbot described to make it official
