it’s really dangerous to be in there like that. like what if the latch got wrapped up or seized up with a foreign object like fence wire and somebody spiked the external fuel tank and lit it. or just fired blindly into the truck and let darkness and panic do the rest.

there’s a pretty good reason professional militaries use armored transport. same with those paramilitary groups of law enforcement like SWAT and HRT using armored vehicles. even insurrectionary groups will modify civilian vehicles to make them more durable to purpose.

meat heads do shit like this because, despite their endless bluster, they still subconsciously operate under the assumption that they aren’t really fighting an actual hot war with threats.

you put a bunch of guys in helmets, masks, armor, and hand them automatic weapons to ambush unarmed civilians from civilian vehicles and maybe it’s a sign that you are escalating the occupation to a level of intensity you’re not tactically prepared for.
