I think this is an old post, but generally it’s a good opportunity to educate someone on the political meaning of what they defaulted to, because it might help them realize they have some negative attitudes. They clearly seem concerned about being consistent with fascism.
That doesn’t impact the ending and he was just saying it to get past Measurehead. I don’t think it’s indicative of much of anything. I probably would have done the same if I didn’t manage to pass the check to knock him out instead.
