Felix pointed out on the podcast nobody here listened to that it seems a pretty common things when teens have a chronically ill parent they take advantage of it to become a self indulgent troglodyte. I actually knew a kid like this in high school like this, their response to have a low energy parent is to take advantage of the situation.
Thats generally because children arnt expected or taught to discipline themselves. In general children in this country arnt really parented at all. This is a classic view of kids being spoiled brats when possible.
Idk about you but as a teen there’s nothing more I wanted than all the privileges of adulthood with none of the responsibility. Even the responsibilities of a child were annoying to me.

I think this really didn’t start till he was into his teens so he should have had a bit more of a sense of personal responsibility.
