Eh, plenty of ace people will engage in sexual activity, often for the sake of a romantic partner.
I don’t/haven’t, so it seems easier to specify the one relevant label. You’re right in reading between the lines that I am ace.
Well, as a nonsexual person, I’ve been pretty shocked to see that the allosexuals have been pretty much taking this porn ID stuff lying down.
The mockingbirds are so lucky the hummingbirds don’t care, because they are shimmery little warrior badasses.
I mean more in the broad sense- to hope that there’s going to be any action at all towards something one personally likes.
My standards are pretty low I guess.
Its a vague undulation in a direction I think most folks here would probably prefer?
That’s kinda all you can realistically hope for a lot of the time
This is exactly what I mean, thanks.
I’m not saying that you have speech issues, but that some neuralgias can be treated with manual therapies, and speech therapists are a good place to look for people trained in face/head/neck manual therapies. Its a disciplinary overlap.
IDK if your type of neuralgia can, but if your doctor scthink its a possibility, then its a direction to go in.
I do know that speech therapist is definitely one of the last specialists I would think to seek out for that kind of specialty. I just lucked out on my own because I was also experiencing speech issues. (It helped me regain neck movement)
Oh, I meant IRL.
The worst was when I got treated like I was stupid for not just assuming that someone with atypical facial features had some kind of mental disability.
I mean, it was apparent that they did once I began talking to them, but like Hell am I just going to assume that based on someone’s looks.
I haven’t interacted with Christians around here.
This is the case of an article misconstruing the meaning of a scientific paper… again.
From what I gather, this is meant to mean the specific context of a gesture having the explicit, consistent purpose- that when it flutters, it means that its partner is supposed to do a specific activity with their nest.
So its not just the context sensitive “I’m letting you go first” like with a cat, or with many other creatures, its more akin to someone texting their spouse “Can you put the kettle on?”
The bizarre thing with this really is that its a visual cue, because we see this all the time with sounds, in all kinds of critters.
I honestly do try to live by WWJD. Its a pretty legit way of thinking.
But the problem is, trying to give a chance to everybody tends to earn a lot of “tsk tsk” from many Christians around here.
It looks like on your general information post, you didn’t want medical advice, so I do apologize if I’m stepping on toes here, but in another post, you mentioned Trigeminal Neuralgia.
My speech therapist actually got into her line of work because of experiencing face/head/neck neuralgia herself, (on top of being a singer) and so her practice includes manual therapies on top of the more typical speech therapy practice. (apparently its more popular in speech pathology training in the Boston/New England area, so not sure if its as accessible around you)
I suggest looking into manual therapies for treatment, and speech therapists may be a good place to start looking for it. Its made a world of difference for me and my own SLP.
Also, I’m a little curious about Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome. It’d be a bit of a long shot in your case, but if you feel the strong urge to bathe in really, really hot water, tell your specialists- its an obscure one, usually associated with children and gets written off as a form of migraine in adults.
Very robust post, covered most of what I’d say in a far more verbose manner than I have the gumption for right now.
Kudos
Pathos NetHack (The OG Roguelike’s very newbie friendly fork and UI)
Rogue Saga (A simple, bare bones Roguelike, nice for a casual run)
Orna (If old school Final Fantasy were Pokemon Go, and didn’t have predatory monetization schemes) Heroes of Aethric is its non-GPS sibling.
Most of my free android games came from when Amazon did its Amazon Underground thing years ago, so you’re kinda SoL on that, sorry.
I mean, there is a completely legitimate argument to be made that the Mane Six are legitimate adventurers, worthy of D&D and all…
But even the most surface level interpretation is just too wholesome. Some characters just need a little happy, wholesome comfort in their life
Well, here he’s clearly using “Females” to be exclusive and offensive, demonstrating that the term does, in fact, have that potential, is my point.
It is kinda nice when trying to figure out other cultures’ taboos, that you can get something as cut and dry as “this word or concept can show up in a news article when politicians misuse it.”
Kinda intimidating, but also a useful frame of reference, because then there’s post like yours which specify that its context-specific.
It can be really frustrating when you spend years tiptoeing around something, only to find out that the person you learned it from just had weird personal hangups or something.
Well, this a great example for the ESL guy wondering if “Females” is offensive.
I had a family member with a hybrid years ago, (but it was a more standard gas with a bonus battery setup) and who drove a ton for work.
The gas mileage was fantastic, and they weren’t limited by the range of electric.
Extra maintenance wasn’t really a problem, it just cost a bit more when it did come up. But, again, gas savings were worth it, so take this anecdote for what its worth.
You mentioned you’re on meds, but how deep does the health rabbit hole go, I wonder? The body is a whole system, after all.
Have ALL your hormone systems been checked, your iron, your inflammation markers, lupus, etc?
Have you ever had a sleep study? (Do you snore?) Do you have migraines or anything like that? Are you perhaps super flexible?
Any of these could be a potential lead to some relief, if you have an additional underlying health issue like sleep apnea, anemia, hypothyroidism, or the likes.
All of these can just fly under the radar for years as just fucking with your head, and most of them can be resolved with pills- supplements, antibiotics, t4, etc.
I personally identify with so many of your fears- I’m personally coming to the realization that I may not be aro ace and I’m in denial, which is scary.
But I’ve only come so far in part because I feel so much better after getting my thyroid out, getting my thyroid levels right for the first time maybe ever, medicating my sex hormones, and getting my migraines to some relative degree of managed for the first time.
Its because they ran into the loudest, most annoying vegans.
IDK how, maybe different areas have more militant vegans, or maybe they just roll with negative stereotypes and the algorithm bs that lets the worst folks float to the top of their media feeds.
I’ve actively sought out vegans because they have great advice on dietary restriction resources and as long as you’re respectful of their choices, they’ve been consistently so willing to share.
And they also really love a good breakfast, in my experience, like the local vegan group has just pages of discussion on good vegan donut resources.
