Things to note: with Nissa out the Aftermath Expert’s 3G sac ability is usually mana positive.
And you can get a rebate off of World Soul’s Rage too.
Once all your basics are out, you’re not gaining as much but it does mean you have more than enough mana and should win in a turn or two.
I do find the deck runs out of things to do sometimes, maybe one or two big silly things to give some more top end threat? But I guess that dilutes the combo-esque burn plan.
This article really needed to go into more detail. It says stuff like:
If you keep this in mind and you know how to sequence your plays with this deck correctly, you’ll have no issues piloting it.
…but then doesn’t tell you how to sequence your plays. It tells you to sideboard in [[The Stone Brain]] for some match-ups, but not what to name with it. Or much else about how your game plan changes in each match-up. Against Esper it tells you to sideboard out all your Nissas, which seems wild to me because I’ve never seen the lands deck win without Nissa on the board. There’s probably something really interesting to say about that strategy, but this article doesn’t say it. It doesn’t do much more than inform you that the deck exists. Which is a shame, because the topic is quite timely – a breakout deck that showed up a few weeks ago and quickly established itself as a serious competitor.
