She’s done nursing her kittens and the neighbor whose daughter was vaguely taking care of them was like “yea you can have whatever cat you want, we can’t take care of all of them” and they had no problem with us taking the mama cat now that the kittens are weaned.
She’s SO sweet. She heard me talking to myself while i was inspecting my plants this morning and she came trotting up the street to say hi. She let me pick her up and carry her to our porch with no fuss. My own cats I’ve had for 10 years don’t even let me carry them without EXTREME fuss.
We just need to figure out what exactly we’re going to do with her until we can get her taken to see a vet, since she might have FIV or something we wouldn’t want our other cats to get. Im kinda stuck in indecision between keeping her in our screened in porch, letting her back out and just hoping we find her when it’s time for an appointment, or figuring out a room we can quarantine her in. I’ll figure it out tho don’t worry
Her name is SQUIDWARD btw because she sounds like him

A congress of cats
(P.s. don’t judge me by the glimpses of my home pls)
Extremely bourgeois flooring and a colonialist rug.
You have been cancelled.
The hammock on the patio is incredibly decadent
I also need to figure out slowly introducing her to our other cats. Our current tuxedo cat Mary Jane is 3x her size and mean enough she hissed at her like 5x in a minute through the glass door
She wants to come inside soooo badly! Even when i was getting her food she seemed more interested in trying to run inside past me. It really makes me feel like she’s chosen us as her people

Okay our current plan is we’re going to let her back out on the street for today and hopefully find her tomorrow morning when the vet is open. I really really really hope she doesn’t pick this one night to fuck off forever 😔 but i think she’ll go back to the porch her kittens were on
Sounds like she choose you
She did I think! It should have been an easy choice, though, between a teenager giving her ??? and me giving her food and ice water every day during a heat wave
