No. It’s not. Constitutionally anyway. But… considering the Terrorist Party is above all law it seems….

Of course it’s possible. We cannot allow it within our society, and it’s certainly illegal to do so. The only thing that stops the people who uphold the law from ignoring the law is if people actually stand up to it, since clearly our separation of powers has failed us.

No they won’t, New York has it’s own political capital in the form of a massive city that centralizes international trade and politics, and a tight-knight community around that culture. This is why his election is such a huge deal.

Whoever in the administration is still talking about this is just babbling nonsense for their base so they can look like they’re big strong tough guys who are fighting the eeeevil brown people communists.

If they actually made a plan to deport the fucking mayor of NEW YORK it would get shot down by every court in the land. They know this, everyone with a brain knows this, so that should tell you who this narrative is being written for.

New York is resilient if nothing else. It is a dirty, grimy, hazardous city and you have to learn to look out for each other if you want to survive. If they come after the Zo at this point they will disturb the entire wasp’s nest. The people supporting the fascists are the same ones who are too scared to set foot in NYC on a nicer day

I say this as a proud New Yorker, but also because fuck fascists

Just come out and say it you fucking cowards: you are simply racist and have hatred towards Palestinians.

I will dislike you more, but at least you are honest in this regard.

A great American city is on the precipice of being run by a communist who has publicly embraced a terroristic ideology,” Representative Andy Ogles from the Republican party said

What the fuck are these cretins on?

Is anyone left from Hitler a “communist” now?

Literally and without exaggeration, yes, that’s what they truly believe.

I feel like this is unfair, because you are leaving out a pretty important part of the issue.

These people also think Hitler was a moderate.

What the fuck are these cretins on?

They know that nobody with a red hat as EVER read or listened to an actual thing Mamdani has ever said. They could say he flew one of the planes on 9/11 and most of the base would believe it.

What do you mean “now?” Americans have had this habit of calling anyone whose politics they disapprove of a “communist” or “socialist” for a very long time.

It’s more just that while they’re calling Mamdani a communist, at the same time they’re doing the thing that is literally the single most Communist thing a government can do: have the state gain direct ownership or control of the means of production. Communism is many things depending on where, when, and who you ask. But the bare minimum, the common denominator under all forms? State owns of the means of production. And here’s Trump literally seizing the means of production. Not just giving out grants or loans, but literally taking a permanent equity stake in a major international company. That is the literal, most basic definition of a Communist action. If literally seizing the means of production isn’t Communist, what the hell is?

The merging of government and corporate power structures has more in common with fascism than with authoritarian communism or liberal libertarian socialism.

I think the person you are replying to may have been trying to point out the irony of the Americans who voted for Trump because they don’t want the state spending money on its poor citizens, when they turn a blind eye to the state investing heavily in private industry.

I’m starting to think the GOP got Quantum Leaped by the party from the 80s. Not going be surprised if we start seeing persecution of the color red.

I’d be a little surprised given how tightly the Republican party has taken to using red as their representative colour (and blue for Democrats).

    Possible? Absolutely.

Likely? I dont think so. Stripping a person of citizenship because they are of the opposing party feels like a line in the sand. How do you defend that? At that point its over for America. Like pack it up and every person who is not a straight white christian should be looking to get the fuck out

Given the turnout and hype around the election, a riot would ensue if the losers took away citizenship to deprive the winner of their winnings.
