I don’t endorse committing any crime whatsoever because that would itself be illegal, but if you’re in a situation where cops won’t destroy your life over a petty matter in an over-surveilled Walmart or whatever, it probably wouldn’t be difficult to steal. Hypothetically, you could just say that you got distracted and forgot while you go buy some other stuff.
