aldi is the only place they are allowed to sit. cashiers in the USA never sit. it is seen as lazy.

Something is really wrong with that country, doing sadism to employees simply to not appear lazy.
And even in bloody USSR such conveniences were mandated first, despite, eh, Soviet people not living very rich lives.
