The charity itself can still be considered an expense even if the video overall makes money, because it’s part of what draws people to watch the video, that’s what I mean when I compare it to marketing.

He definitely does which is why the whole thing is sustainable, but it does seem like he reinvests all of it into the business instead of paying it out into his own pockets. But I don’t know much about him, maybe that’s not quite true.

He is extremely wealthy. Maybe not quite a billionaire but that’s the level of wealth we’re talking. So no, it’s not all going to charity. It is all ultimately about making him wealthier. That’s the only way to get as wealthy as he is.

Never thought I would see people defending Mr fucking beast here of all places.

Is he taking the money in cash or is his wealth the part of his business that he owns?

Also I think he’s horrible and making a lot of kids think that nihilistic “grinding” is good and a replacement for doing something meaningful and fulfilling in life.

I mean, I assume that’s largely the value of the business, yeah. What’s your point? It still has that value. It’s still all ultimately a deeply cynical exploitation of young people’s empathy to gain personal wealth and power and he still chooses his acts based not on whether they’re effective but whether they benefit him personally. There have been a few deep dive videos on the dude and he seems to be truly repugnant.

Morally you’re 100% correct, I’m only looking at how, from a business perspective, he’s running it very conservatively and taking little for himself in cash. That’s not morally better than if he took all the money out now and spent it on the best drugs in the planet, but we were specifically talking about how he runs his business at the start of the thread.
