damn this is gold. that guy’s a genius. he might have weird views but at least they’re consistent and well thought-through (edit: except the “women are all stupid” part).

i also really cackled at the “damn, cheese, gender, what else do they deny themselves?” as if a gender is something you’re enjoying. really brightens my day that some people see it that way so instinctively.

Wtf does that mean? Not everyone is part of your clique that believes stuff that is often inaccurate.

not sure which part is confusing you, but i’d be happy to explain.

        • trans-inclusive radical misogyny would be a tongue in cheek term made up for our guys particular unusual views around gender. he clearly hates women, and doesn’t trust them in any positions of authority, but this misogyny extends equally to trans women rather than trans men. usually, these days, this kind of misogyny would be paired with a hatred, fear, and denial of the identities of trans people.
        • blursed is a portmanteau of “blessed” and “cursed”. it is essentially a way of saying something has both good and bad elements, usually ones which contrast in a surprising way.
        • terf is an acronym that stands for “trans exclusive radical feminism”, it is essentially a group of people who make a huge deal out of policing others gender identity and expression, especially those of trans women, under the pretense of caring about women. they have some roots in the ‘radical feminism’ of decades ago, but nowadays align much more strongly with the religious right, as hating trans people is their sole or primary political interest.

Amazing. On the surface everything I read is bigotry and disdain, but I can’t help liking the guy. At the very least he seems to have the consistency to choose his very own flavor of bigotry.

Not humor though; as far as I understand OOP he’s 100% serious. Maybe one of those people that are kinda half aware that they’re being an asshole just for conversation.

Is there a pool going on whether “Not Gay Name” is actually gay too? He sounds so closeted, it’d be easy money.

I’d go in on that pool. None of his reactions exude disgust or distaste - more just an internal logic of possible inconveniences, compromises, or difficulties for those that are gay - such as not being seen as attractive by other gays, or discrimination/harassment.

Definitely seems like he’s thought it through and that these could be his own counterarguments for coming out that he came up with.

If the story is true, and my guess is that is and based in a Spanish speaking country, I think I kinda love the guy. Like a living Wholesome Redneck meme.

Honestly, having worked in kitchens, this is sorta just how chefs are. You really need an oversized ego to run a kitchen well, and you have to be a little crazy to pull it off. They’re somehow either the best or worst people in the world, and sometimes you get a Guy like OP’s who is both simultaneously.

Couldn’t it also be that the guy exists, but the demand for stories about him is larger than him, so OOP chose to cater to that demand?

I like the “accidentally scared a 17yo out of an eating disorder” though, you can’t make that shit up.

well actually, that’s what they tried to do back when my parents were in school. they would force-feed them if they didn’t eat up. it was disgusting.

I don’t know the details, so I could be out of line, but you sometimes do have to force severe anorexia patients to eat. you can straight up die from it. and once you’re anorexic for long enough, your body stops feeling hungry at appropriate times, so you have to make yourself eat X number of calories on a schedule for a few months during refeeding.

          t. recovered anorexic who narrowly avoided inpatient.

Recovered anorexic who did inpatient: 100% + your body will straight up reject food at a certain point. The only way to recover is literally to force feed yourself even if you throw it up, you basically reteach your body how much it needs to consume
