Trump had a quote where he basically said he thought the whole trans people are mass shooters thing was bullshit. His heart isn’t really in the transphobia thing, though he’s happy to let other people go in on it, which isn’t any better.
Trump during a campaign rally in NC last year:
“You see I’m talking about cutting taxes and people go like that (small clap), I talk about transgender everybody goes crazy! Who would’ve thought? 5 years ago you didn’t know what the hell it was!”
Not that it matters because he is passing anti-trans legislation and is surrounded by transphobic fascists, but it is interesting how he basically just doesn’t care.
