We have an army for fighting as well as an army for labour. For fighting, we have the Eighth Route and New Fourth Armies but even they do a dual job, warfare and production. With these two kinds of armies, and with a fighting army skilled in these two tasks and in mass work, we can overcome our difficulties and defeat Japanese imperialism.

My region, a couple years back, put out PSAs to get people to return their empties to the Bottle Depots that were a weird mix of old WWII homefront “do your part” posters asking people to collect certain household trash and grow Victory Gardens, and modern spy film tropes. Sounded a lot like that statement. Utterly ridiculous, but if it got even one more bottle or can properly recycled, I’m happy they did it.
