But the tiny needles have a purpose and visible effect. Meanwhile the meetings yield no results.

If getting a tattoo feels like sitting through a corporate meeting, maybe I don’t want a tattoo after all.

It depends on your artist. Mine was very friendly and we were chatting about life and society when I got mine, he was fun to talk to. However, some artists prefer to work in silence, others might want you to talk but won’t themselves, it depends. To me the experience was much better than any meeting I’ve been to, despite the needles

Wait till you have a kid that’s into Minecraft. Meetings are an escape.

I’m a school bus driver and one of my kids spent all of last year yelling that in the back of the bus. My job would be so much better if we were just permitted to use duct tape.

My kid just found out that they put the song “Steve’s lava chicken” in a jukebox and it’s making me consider heroine as an escape lol.

(Not really, it’s just a hyperbole joke, I don’t need concerned messages)

Come to academia. At least 25% of my coworkers have visible tattoos (generally ankle or forearm).

I’m strongly considering a wrist tattoo, on the side facing me but not the underside.

Maybe, if something speaks to me. Downside of face tattoos is wrinkles. I’m middle-aged, and wrinkles are right around the corner for me.

Right now a cute critter on my wrist would make me happy (and, side-benefit, keep me from biting my wrist when I get super stressed–no biting wrist friend! [I’ve tested this with temporary tattoos and it works for me.])

The indelible markings they want are the soulless eyes and empty obeisance, though — not awareness of self. 🤮

No, corporate meetings are FAR worse. I’d much rather endure a couple of hours of physical pain rather than the mental torture for 30 mins.

This is how classes in college feel too. Slight exaggeration, but it feels like in every I’m either excruciatingly bored or incredibly infuriated
