A tweet from GuilloTeen Vogue (@leftistbeard) on June 28, 2025. It has a screenshot from a Los Angeles Times article entitled ‘How do you make a 44-year-old animatronic rodent appeal to today’s kids?’ with a header image of two paintings of Chuck E. Cheese’s head in a pop art style. The tweet is in response to a June 27 tweet from Political Polls (@Ppollingnumbers) which reads “Frontrunner Pete Buttigieg has 0% support in the black community for 2028 according to a new Emerson poll” and shows a photo of a clean-shaven Pete Buttigieg in profile looking stonefaced.
during his primary run, didn’t an unarmed black dude get shot by the cops in Indiana… if not specifically South Bend?
maybe I dreamed all this, but I swear his handling of it was extremely out of touch, ex. not wanting to return to the town that elected him to manage the situation in the ground, treating it all like a nuisance to his campaign aspirations, and generally acting like his campaign for highest executive office of the US was going to benefit the community of South Bend more than him doing his actual job at the time would.
it was all crazy triangulated to avoid showing him taking a side in his community, itself a microcosm of the over-policed gentrifying rust belt town. and as a result, clyburn is literally the only black person who supports his career aspirations.
edit: yep, here it is.

What tf kind of name is “South Bend” for a city anyway? That’s like calling a place “East Area” or “North Place”.
Remember a kid getting killed crossing the street and he was more worried that it would paint his consulting firm designed intersection project in a bad light.
