All last weekend my fyp was brigaded by chud text posts where they try to act tough about the “radical libs protesting” and I still don’t know what I did to deserve it. I barely ever talk to libs or chuds on there and my feed is mostly communist creators and stuff about autism…
My greatest fear is probably being realized about the “behind closed doors” stuff that happened to keep TikTok in the states. My favorite thing about the app was that the feed alg tended to stay with your interests instead of trying to bait you like FB does.
Nothing surprising. Way more reactionary, especially individualistic. Fitness (the aesthetic, “be an alpha” kind), explaining how stocks work, how to plan your retirement, how <esoteric feature of US government> works, complaining about some interaction with a drive thru employee, grindset mindset nonsense (how to deal with alienation by doubling down your efforts). Just a microcosm of the experience of the US at the moment.
