Starting this month you can throw bricks at chuds
The rainbow flag or pride flag is a symbol of LGBT pride and LGBT social movements. The colors reflect the diversity of the LGBT community and the spectrum of human sexuality and gender. Using a rainbow flag as a symbol of LGBT pride began in San Francisco, California, but eventually became common at LGBT rights events worldwide.
Originally devised by the artists Gilbert Baker, Lynn Segerblom, James McNamara and other activists, the design underwent several revisions after its debut in 1978, and continues to inspire variations. Although Baker’s original rainbow flag had eight colors, from 1979 to the present day the most common variant consists of six stripes: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. The flag is typically displayed horizontally, with the red stripe on top, as it would be in a natural rainbow.
LGBT people and allies currently use rainbow flags and many rainbow-themed items and color schemes as an outward symbol of their identity or support. There are derivations of the rainbow flag that are used to focus attention on specific causes or groups within the community (e.g. transgender people, fighting the AIDS epidemic, inclusion of LGBT people of color). In addition to the rainbow, many other flags and symbols are used to communicate specific identities within the LGBT community.

Would people be into me making posts about obscure dinosaurs? I’ll keep it to the science com so it doesn’t clog up the site, promise.
I mean, education is a of form of praxis, right?
It’s not that I want to just share my dinosaur hyperfixation with people, nope, honest
Dinosaurs are cool
🦕🦖
You know what’s kinda sad, is a lot of kids don’t have a favorite dinosaur anymore :(
I’m talking pre school to grade 2. Lot of them just have their favourite youtuber or whatever. They at least have their favourite animals still.
Please post about dinosaurs. If you made an ankylosaurus post I would love you forever
I was gonna show people Dino’s that they might not know about. Would a more obscure Ankylosaurid be good enough?
Ooh yes that would be more than good enough, please do!
it would be cool
I was doing that for the site years ago, it’s fun
I’m more of an Ice Ages guy myself, but I respect the Dino-heads out there.
I would be! Fucking love dinos
Not sure what to do with myself, I just got fired from my job and have been rotting for the last couple of weeks. Don’t worry about me, I had some money saved so it’s not like I’m broke. If it wasn’t for my dog I don’t know what I would do. He’s the only reason I leave the house now.
How Tesla got into electricity:
“In the dusk of the evening, as I stroked Macak’s back, I saw a miracle which made me speechless with amazement. Macak’s back was a sheet of light, and my hand produced a shower of crackling sparks loud enough to be heard all over the house … My mother seemed charmed — ‘Stop playing with the cat,’ she said. ‘He might start a fire.’ But I was thinking abstractly. Is Nature a gigantic cat? If so, who strokes its back? I cannot exaggerate the effect of this marvelous night on my childish imagination. Day after day I have asked myself, what is electricity?”
stroking Macak lol
gooner nikola tesla
Just filed an OSHA complaint for the bird infestation in the warehouse I work at. Having a bird shit directly on the paperwork I was completing and management telling me to use a different portion of my desk to avoid direct hits was the last goddamn straw. Don’t really expect it to go anywhere but I gotta feel like I’m doing something.
Once while I was doing some work at my previous place of employment (Cleaning out apartments for the municipality usually either hoarder stuff or people who died in the apartment) I felt a drop or something on my neck while I was grabbing stuff, I checked out what it was and it was a maggot. The ceiling wasn’t even dirty or anything (The floor absolutely was though).
Don’t put up with that shit, it’s not safe for you and you have rights.
Inside the mind of amerikkkan politician:
Don’t do a Nazi salute, whatever you do, don’t do a Nazi salute
Does Nazi salute
Oh shit oh fuck
More like "Heh, that should be a subtle dogwhistle that only my supporters would know about"

No current struggle session discussion here on the new general megathread, i will ban you from the comm and remove your comment, have a good day/night :meow-coffee:
My favorite local band from when I was a teen played a reunion show, saw their first show in 08 and they kinda got me into the DIY punk thing ans introduced me to people and stuff. They broke up in 2012 or so. It was fun but weird. I don’t get out to hang shows now cause work schedule and I’m just kinda over punk. Seeing a bunch of people from way back that dropped for similar reasons or just moved and the people that were still making it their main thing didn’t revive my love of DIY punk. Barely anyone under 40 was there, palestine wasn’t mentioned once cause none of the bands talked. It was boring and the reunion band was sloppy af. I know their shit well and could only recognize 3 songs. I’m gratified in my show up sometimes status. There’s an every 2 weeks expiremental/noise show at a cooler venue that’s been more my thing lately
Damn, that’s too bad :( I dropped out of the diy punk scene over a decade ago but recently I’ve gone to a few shows and been real happy. The scene here is so much more queer and cool than it used to be. There was a Palestine flag flying at the show I went to last night. And while I say punk, there is a variety there. Last night had a sick thrash metal band. And a punk band that had an electric violin. I had a blast.
Thank you for another banger of a mega thread

Absolutely horrific
Jesus fucking Christ that’s worse than I imagined. I hate this place
Everyone who can reasonably own a gun should own a gun. Especially queer people.
only the coolest legal systems have unrepresented 4 year olds in court having a “judge” explain to them what deportation is
Yikes, is this typical for many countries who are deporting children? How about the US?
*sigh I’m just gonna upvote your commemt because opening those links will make me very sad.
Since the US is the only country that does this, does that mean the same protocols can apply to other countries under US occupation? Like Haiti and southern Korea? Because that’s still the US doing it.
it’s certainly possible that it happens elsewhere, I just don’t know and the US is an outlier in other areas
Do most countries deport children
yes, at least in “the west”. There was a story a while back here where a kid had to leave his high school graduation because they decided he had to leave the country immediately.
At a punk show Saturday which I rarely go to anymore I was catching up with a pal and he was going to school for cyber security whatever and was talking about his teacher having been in both the cia and nsa and I replied ‘oh, so he’s like…pure evil.’ And the dude was taken aback. He had been sorta talking about the guy’s big personality before bit there wasn’t much indication whether this was cause he liked the guy or cause he’s a character. But I guess he likes his cia/nsa computer prof and asked ehat I meant and I said ‘acab applies to intelligence agencies and if anything they’re worse.’ And he kinda made an excuse to leave. He’s never been particularly political but yknow, has been around diy punk and general leftist for a while and usually has a good head on his shoulders. I don’t expect him to drop.the class and never suggested anything like that, I just kinda assumed my saying his prof was evil would be agreed with. Back in my day crust punks didn’t trust the cia and nsa employees
Sister was telling me she first started drinking coffee because of her first job out of college where she had to wake up super early. She didn’t drink it in the morning to wake up for work, she drank it once she got off work so she could be alert for her free time.
Seems terrible for sleep
It’s my first time existing during pride as slightly more than just an ally!
That seems a lot more than slightly to me tbh. Happy pride month :3
i won’t speak for roux but not being an active target of oppression gives me a lot of, not imposter syndrome exactly, but a feeling that these counter cultural institutions that have been built aren’t really for me because i don’t need or benefit from them.
i deleted a reply to roux essentially saying the same as you.
Maybe part of being ace is alienation… from allo culture, from gay culture, just… in general. A constant sense of trying to be something you’re not.
i wonder often if our main struggle is with feelings of separateness". Not really a targeted ‘outgroup’, but not feeling part of any in-group. A curiosity if anything, like TNGs DATA. accepted, but not “part of the team”
it is a strange sensation, always separate, not really a part of any community. feeling fake, again like an android, peering out at allos with curious and sometimes envious eyes, always fighting a nebulous, deeply held fear that it’s not just me, it’s not damage, it’s real.
i don’t belong; because i can’t understand, no one really wants me around.
dunno. probably just holdover feelings from all those years not knowing. years trying to fit with allos i couldn’t understand, and the memories of the hurt eyes and name-calling i can’t forget, people who took it personal when i didn’t give them what i was supposed to.
AAAnyway, in the rare moments i see another gracie, i am heartened to see i share something, even if it’s just the same feelings of confusion and alienation.
TLDR Im “happy” to see y’all around fightin thru the same feelings i do.
Happy Pride y’all!
Yes! You! Ace comrades too!
I feel the same way about being trans. I feel like an outsider, I knew since I was a child that I wasn’t like the boys I knew. I also didn’t know why and pushed that feeling deep deep down inside, I always felt awkward around my female peers in high school because I was a hormonal horny teenager that knew only one thing, I liked girls. I liked girls so much I wished I was born a different way (Yeah I know I would have known sooner if it weren’t for growing up in the extremely transphobic 80s/90s). So now finally trying to accept who I am, I have also gotten really good at performing as a man, so good that I am afraid of doing anything else. I know it isn’t who I am but I also know that to others in the community I just look like a “pretty” cis guy.
I feel the same way as an nb person who will be treated and regarded as a he/him in most public situations, I just no longer feel like it’s my fault when I get rejected from spaces for being insufficently masculine or not displaying that masculinity appropriately, fuck you I wasn’t trying to meet your standards anyway.
I see myself as part of the community but here to be an ally and provide support while trying not to take up space.
JK Rowling, may she be salted from the earth and her castle crumble before it’s time, had some shit to say about Ace people. The people that seek to oppress don’t draw the same distinction we do - you’re either in the hegemonic cisheteronormative patriarchal chain of being or you must be corrected/destroyed.
yeah that’s some real cutting edge bigotry.
I was being silly lol. Happy pride!
Lately in the programmer community, it really feels like a gigantic schism is forming between anti-ai and pro-ai people. Like each side is rapidly getting more and more extreme. Pretty cool!
I’m firmly on the “I’ll offload this one boring tedious task to an llm” side, slowly realizing it’s all boring tedious tasks.
Mario Kart world apparently started development on the switch 1, which means at some point the developers made the switch to switch 2 switch.
