My mother has been an avid reader her whole life started texting like that, but worse. Lots of misspellings and general weirdness. She used to be pretty eloquent in a text. I blame the internet.
I just managed to forget how to use commas and write in complete sentences. Over text, in formal writing I’m usually present enough to catch those things.
