To better bridge digital and tabletop Magic, MTG Arena will roll out a suite of new features to better connect players to their local game stores—and reward them for attending in-person events!
I think this is a refreshing step in the right direction, just the ability to find a local store or event more easily is a big win. I’ve always hated how buried and inconsistent that stuff is on their own website. Store announcements is also kinda cool.
I haven’t regularly played Arena in years and this probably won’t get me back there, but I can at least envision it if maybe the juiced the digital rewards more or did things like 1:1 paper:digital packs. Having an Arena pack code in every paper booster would probably get me back.
