It’s especially exciting that there’s an existing medicine that appears to help with the brains waste removal process. Should speed up time to get a treatment out for widespread use.

Would be interesting to see the GOP try to run with this messaging. As much as they hate “dei hires” they would jump all over that part, but seeing that it benefitted a white male would likely make them short circuit.
I think context makes a difference on whether a call is welcome or not, appropriate or not.
If the email asks me to write out a bunch of info I know off the top of my head, just call me. Don’t make me write out something that I can just tell you much faster.
If you’re asking something that kicks off a conversation going back and forth like if you need help walking through something, sending emails back and forth is annoying and dumb. Knocking it out in one call is faster and easier than exchanging 15 emails.
On the other hand, if you don’t need an answer right away, if you need documents or images or if you need to communicate about something that requires a record of the communication, email is better.
I have been annoyed equally by getting calls and emails when people use them for things when they aren’t ideal.
Why couldn’t journals require authors to disclose use of any AI tool along with specific prompts used? It shouldn’t be too hard to manage that.
And when push comes to shove, how many will vote for Biden in November if they feel so strongly about Trump not getting reelected? I’d venture that most of them will just get in line and vote with their party, since that’s what GOP do.
This hits hard for me. The survey is the first thing I’ve heard from them. I keep a tracker of places I’ve applied to and when, and note when I get rejected or called for any interview. I still have applications open from a year ago.
Yesterday I got an “application experience” survey from a company I applied to last October. When they asked me “is there anything else you’d like to share” I told them that they need to get a little more disciplined about following up with candidates.
So frustrating.
From the regs document: "Beak trimming. The removal of not more than one-quarter to one-third of the upper beak or the removal of one-quarter to one-third of both the upper and lower beaks of a bird "
Gross. Makes me feel like going vegetarian was the right call.
Exactly. Saying that one state doesn’t have the right to make the call is basically saying they can’t enforce constitutionally based rules. If that is the case then everything would have to go to federal court, and the states would have a lot less control over their own electoral process.
Not surprising. I mean, what all have they passed lately?
The GOP seems to think that the legislative branch is in place to prevent laws from passing.
I read a proposal a while back about creating a dorm-like apartment complex for legislators that would be included free with the job with strong incentives to live there over private homes. This would also have the added benefit of improving personal relationships between the representatives so that they would be more inclined to work together and collaborate across party lines.
Yes let’s call this what it is. Also we should remove Beetlejuice from this whole thing and not tarnish a good movie/show franchise.
If he was working in signals analysis he was likely cleared at the secret or top secret levels and could have very easily leveraged his experience into a super lucrative job in intelligence work or communications after his military service. This sentence and the discharge from service has probably eliminated the chances of that.
So my question is, how did this guy come to power in the first place? Was he always like this and it was just hidden from view for 70 years? Or is he going senile and just became crazy and stupid in the last few years? I mean, he’s a lawyer and was mayor of New York during 9-11. At least at a distance he seemed to have his shit together for a while.
I like the look. One thing I would like to see is integration of the community search tool to make discoverability easier. Something that shows what server each community is on but also will allow you to search across servers in case you don’t know where things are, and a way to view the list of all communities if you want.
So, I skimmed the article and may have missed it. Why is this anything more that tinkering with and (maybe torturing) mice? What’s the actual scientific value here? (Assuming invisibility potion wasn’t an actual goal)
Perhaps medical dyes for imaging?
