  • Trump inherited a great economy from Obama, but ran it into the ground. (His 2018 tax cuts, etc …) Trump got out just as the consequences of his actions started to happen, just as Biden became president. This left Biden with a crashed economy which he worked hard to improve during his election (the US is considered the best and strongest economy after COVID).

Now, just because it’s doing the best, it doesn’t mean everyone is in the best shape. So people are just remembering that the economy on the surface looked better during Trump ) because of Obama) and looked worse during Biden (because of Trump) and assumed that the surface was the same underneath.

What will be really interesting is that the economy isn’t as solid this time for Trump so he’s most likely going to do even more economical damage to the US that will cause it to take even longer to fix for the next president(s).

  • You are right, those are not compatible, didn’t realize that. The speed specs are the same, just a series block. With the worst part of this being that these are all going to be 10 years old when Win10 is completely unsupported, which is better then the non-Linix alternatives (MacOS, ChromeOS(?), Android, iPadOS).

  • The difference is you now need a TPM 2.0 chip. That’s pretty much it. Hardware requirements were the same as Win8.

If you are using a desktop computer, all you need to do is buy a $20-30 TPM 2.0 module and install it. It connects to a few pins and your done. It’s cheap, simple, and easy to do.

The issue is most people now have laptops and quite a few didn’t have that chip or that version (some have TPM 1.2, which isn’t as secure anymore.) and you can’t install it on a laptop motherboard. TPM 2.0 has been available since mid-2016, but some manufacturers might have cheapened out and not added it to save costs as it wasn’t a necessary part. So basically, any laptop that is 9 years or older (or the manufacturer cheapened out) won’t be able to upgrade to Win11.

  • The problem with the gambit system was it was too easy to script an attack setting that the battles played themselves and you could only lose if you were grossly out leveled.

Finished the game like this by just walking thru it, just killed the challenge. And it wasn’t set up well to use commands, more just the gambit system.

  • Google also can’t:

Share app revenue “with any person or entity that distributes Android apps” or plans to launch an app store or app platform Offer developers money or perks to launch their apps on the Play Store exclusively or first Offer developers money or perks not to launch their apps on rival stores

So basically, hand Apple a monopoly over the smartphone duopoly. Apple still will be allowed to do this, and they have done this already in the past. Wow, way to make sure the free market stays free.

Worst part is, because this is a government made monopoly, Apple can’t be taken to court for monopoly behavior. Apple didn’t do anything here to make this happen, but will laugh all the way to the bank for it.

  • For the first part, you pretty much did imply it was a government thing in your post I replied to.

As for someone like Mohyeddin release a video like that with her credit on the line, sure she would. People have done this in the past for the right amount. Think doctors that promote cigarettes, petrol backed scientists that deny harms, Bernie Madoff (before he started the Ponzi scheme), Rudy Giuliani was a large and respected lawyer at one point that in the 80s took on the Five Families mafias in New York. I could keep this list going. And conspiracy theories are big business right now, some people would put their reputation on the line for a huge payout.

This feels less real (as no one of either side of politics has even attempted to touch on this) and more like Alex Jones level of reporting.

Now, yes, I could be wrong, but it just doesn’t pass the feel test for me. More clickbaity and with trigger words to get even more attention.

  • It’s only a link to a YouTube video because it’s the only place it exists. Which should raise some serious warning bells. No Liberal or Conservative news outlet has anything about this.

I’m not saying it’s fake, but it’s only on this one site, by this one person, who supposedly has a huge history in news media who wouldn’t have a hard time getting it into any other news channel (even ones that could link to her) seems… Odd. But hey, don’t forget to join her Patreon page.

  • WotC never cared much about the novel and stories part of their IPs. You could tell from the MtG lore that it always was a distant second.

Forgotten Realms was amazing in the 80s and 90s, but that was when it wasn’t bought out by WotC and still a part of TSR. Now that it’s part of WitC (Hasbro), all of the lore is not cared much about in all their IPs.

  • Because emulation is legal. It shouldn’t have to be hidden. This was taken through the courts in 2001 with the Sony vs Bleem lawsuit.

What appears to be happening is Nintendo is abusing its power and money to make threats of legal action that these groups just can’t afford to fight, even though they haven’t done anything illegal. It should be coming as a surprise that Nintendo is coming for them, because this is completely legal, and not some fan game using Nintendo IP (which is what they normally shut down).
