I believe, in this election, with two unfavorable candidates, everything is already baked in. There’s very little to move the needle at this point.

Biden screws the pooch during a debate? Polls still show him leading by a point or two, but within the margin of error. Trump gets nearly assassinated? Same, Biden leading by a not statistically significant number.

This election is going to be a squeaker, and we’re going to see unrest either way. We need a blowout to avoid that, and it’s not happening.

Edit: last poll I read had Biden leading. Either way doesn’t change what I said.

And it’s worse. This is not normal. We won’t win pretending it’s normal.

Let’s stop equating this stuff to stuttering. It’s not stuttering. I wish it were stuttering.

Head in the sand mentality is just going to get us a dictatorship in the presidency. I don’t know what it takes for us to realize that we have to do something about this problem. It isn’t going to be enough to just say

“Well, maybe he’ll get elected anyway.”

Probably reacting to an earpiece with people shouting, “No, you BUFFOON!” followed by a vuvuzela.

Funny story.

When I was an air traffic controller some boy scouts came to visit and one was sitting behind my scope as I was working. I was showing him landmarks like, here’s Orlando, here’s Bimini, here’s the Bahamas.

He says, “Where’s Bermuda?” “Over there,” I answered. “So this is the Bermuda Triangle!” he said. I said, “Yeah, I guess it is.” He paused and then asked, “Does anything well, strange, ever happen here?”

I didn’t want to disappoint him, so I waited a second and said, “Well, they don’t let us talk about things like that.”

He seemed pretty happy.

My wife said I bet the burner and grill were either sitting close to it or in the store at the same time.

Frankly, we aren’t planning to use it for cooking. It’s been holding hair stuff, brushes and hair ties and pretty little frilly things.

It’s so big and ceramic, and the hole is just that one side, It’s a good idea but I think it would be impractical.

We have narrow margins these days. Elections are decided by the undecided.

Biden has the best chance of NOT beating Trump (I fear). He cannot change and as a known commodity will not generate new enthusiasm. Trump has generated all the outrage and rejection he is going to get. No new information is going to change that.

Someone else is an unknown. What happens if we switch is unknown. It may lose. But we are losing now.

But it could grab a LOT of press attention, generate enthusiasm, and break up the logjam of conservatism that runs national politics.

The whole point is that this is not a “dicey” or desperate thing to do when we are fighting for democracy and freedom. It is the ONLY thing to do when you are sure your current course loses.

We have to win.

This is a fine idea

It’s simply not in the Democrat’s self-interest in states where they control the elections.

This is clear evidence, as if we needed it, that gaining and maintaining power is all EITHER political party cares about.

We need an independent review of the system, apart from either party’s influence, to make any headway with election reform.

It might be the answer we’ve been looking for!

Probably not.
