If you dont try to learn any skill because you think you won’t be the best at it, then you’ll end up never learning anything. Capitalism makes it so that we are always in competition with each other, and that penetrates into our consciousness. I think part of it is deprogramming yourself from this competition mindset and focusing on yourself rather than comparing yourself to others.

I think this goes to show why being covert and using divide and conquer strategies was so important for American imperialists. Trump is not covert and threatens too many countries at the same time where they become conscious of encroachment of imperialism and naturally come together in solidarity. Still the economic system of imperialism is in place, put in by the previous more competent imperialists, and that is the thing that the US still can leverage. I think it will be fading though as time goes on, but I hope the damage it does while that happens can be minimized

I don’t see this as a replacement for the STEM-lords on H-1B’s since I think China will be more stringent on who they let in (high qualifications, higher education level etc.). H-1B’s are more for flooding the market with tech workers in the US to keep wages down and keep middle class labor exploitable. But that is just my speculation.

Made me realize, the nuclear family is a failed concept under capitalism. When every facet of raising children is commodified, the working class is going to just stop having children. Though I also think there is a psychological factor to it too, with the alienation under capitalism making one question what is the purpose of bring a child into this world. And yet all of this is necessary for capitalism to reproduce itself, which is a huge contradiction that is only alleviated a bit by immigration.
