Well you’re asking for swordsman to fight skeletons, that’s your first mistake. What you need is a steel drivin’ man.

Just really, really blunt the swords edges.

While according to the rules of most RPGs you are technically correct, and therefore according to Futurama the best kind of correct, it still won’t work that way.

    They’re Undead.

Blunt, not edged. They resist edged weapons.

I would think a two-hander is massive enough to be a blunt weapon if turned sideways, striking with the flat of the sword. But, my opinion is really uninformed.

I’d allow it, at my table.

Using the flat of your blade is a valid tactic for blunting blows, be it against undead or to incapacitate a target.

But I’d also give you a slight disadvantage, as you’re now going to be fighting your blade becoming a fan.

I’d also decrease the damage a bit if actually used as a bludgeoning weapon.

Yeah, that’d be fair, and it’s how I normally treat using the shaft of a pole weapon as staff.

Unless it’s a Monk. Damn them, and their versatility!
