Have most MENSA members done anything notable outside of perhaps being rich? It seems that for most ‘high IQ’ people, it just means being able to rotate shapes in your head and recognize patterns without actually being noteworthy or contributing to anything that matters.
Most smart people doing smart person things don’t give a shit about Mensa, because they have enough self-esteem from their normal life to not have to desperately prove to others that they are smart and have value. It is a pointless org yes. It’s just a place for a certain segment of nerd to self-saturate in their own arrogance.
The smartest people I’ve ever met didn’t care about being smart, but they had high paying smart people jobs anyway to fund their massive furry suit collection.
There’s a pretty great podcast called “my year in MENSA” where a comedian named Jamie Loftus accidentally passes the test to get in and documents it. It’s only 4 episodes and it was kinda interesting.
Anyone that applies to join Mensa is automatically a dork of the largest degree.

Appears to be 98th percentile
