      It should have drained opponents, but bringing kids to sacrifice is on brand for black.

      Just look at Marionette Master/Apprentice as a similar example.

      I agree. If they insist on making it black, it should probably at least be “target opponent loses 1 life.”

      I also don’t really see lands being a consistent part of any of the limited archetypes of this set, so it feels like it’s being included for a 60 or 100 card format.

        Given that it’s a one-drop, it’s at least an early game lizard enabler in limited. A rollout with this and a 2- and 3-drop with the lizard “pain” trigger is easy synergy.

        In the late game, there is the chance of getting a few 2-damage pings for grindy inevitability if the format has room for slow decks like that.
