I was thinking this sounds like a mana burn nightmare… but that only revealed to me how out of touch I am with the current magic rules…

I started playing mtg 14 years ago, never have had to interact with mana burn. Winter Orb, on the other hand, single handedly ruined my mtg innocence way back when :|
Could be interesting in planar standard elves, where one of the biggest issues is just getting boardwiped.
But realistically it’s just another designed-for-commander card.
