This meme is on the edge, as it could very easily be interpreted as class reductionism or the diminishing the material realities of oppression faced by minoritary groups, like racialized people, queer people, etc. The point isn’t to imply that the struggles, even symbolic ones are not important, or that they should be relegated to a second plane.
The issue is that some (shitlib) contemporary online discourse starts the analysis by noticing the patterns in discourse, often in an individualizing manner, and just stops there, as if correcting the individuals that reproduce ruling class ideology is sufficient to solve the problem. Conveniently, it never goes any deeper and tries to understand the political, economic and social structures that produce and reproduce those issues. If you do, you’re a tankie.
In that way, politics becomes a game of perpetually noticing and correcting individual faults. They shitpost on twitter dunking on some chud reddit style, post a meme about trump kissing putin, consider it a job well done and stop engaging.
Then they after they get wrecked in bourgeois elections by the reactionaries doing moral panic, they proceed to blame the closest brown or poor group for their loss. Many such cases. SAD!
