Correct. A permanent can’t have “negative” counters on it. Even -1/-1 counters are tracked via a positive number of -1/-1 counters.
So this makes planeswalker indestructible by combat damage?
Yeah, you’d have to remove this creature, or use destroy/exile effects on Planeswalkers
