My wife actually brought up a good point: he might have heard about the push to rename Columbus Ohio, which is both a real left wing position and also something unlikely to happen anytime remotely soon despite the actual city generally being far less comfortable with its name than any other major city in the country to my knowledge and often euphamizing it.
