Yeah that and the fact you could just put all that money and material into missiles instead kinda makes it dubious.

You could, I guess hypothetically, park missiles in low orbit to throw them at someone at a later date and load them with tungsten rods or whatever but it still seems like a massive amount of faff once you factor in radiation/heat sheilding.

This all kinda feels like some kind of market manipulation scheme or Raegan Star Wars callback.
