It is never ending. You find a book, and it leads you to another book.
In this specific case it was Red Medicine: Socialized Healthcare in Soviet Russia using images by Margaret Bourke-White. And looking her up lead me to her wikipedia page which talks about her 1931 book Eyes on Russia. It seems quite interesting, skimming the first parts. I shall put on my list of books to read, potentially even epub.
Red Medicine itself was mentioned in Russian Justice, which was mentioned in This Soviet World

That’s the best! Any particular way you keep the reading list organized? I’ve been meaning to catalog all of the books i have in a meaningful way - but in the meantime theyre just bouncing around in my noggin lol.
Also what you mentioned is a big reason i love texts with huge bibliographies; its like a dry, niche cinematic universe!

Could maybe uae calibre? It has metadata along with a comprehensive database that you can edit
Nice I’ll check it out! Thanks
Welcome!

2·28 days agoIts just a text file where I dump the name and author in (and where it was renfrenced in parenthesis, cuz I find that interesting). Books on the soviet union in a chunk there, Spain there, Korea there, stuff cowbee has asked me to epub there, and so on.
Though I am trying to use zotero to also keep track of stuff I have read.

The to-read list ever grows and the time to read them never does.
